A kind of indier, local response to the Dali blockbuster at the High Museum, Emily Amy Gallery (1000 Marietta Street, Suite 208) is spotlighting three artists in Down the Rabbit Hole: The Influence of the Strange and the Familiar (opening Friday Sept. 10, 7-10 PM). Jennifer Cawley does cutie-pie paintings in encaustic that suggest children's story books and Zuzka Vaclavik is a fan of the kind of abstract "post-graffiti" doodles that fill high school notebooks and suck local artists like Alex Kvares into a black hole of absorbing visual business.
But the artist after our own heart is New York-based Cara Enteles, whose Liquid Sky-meets-Audubon images of dandelions, hummingbirds and wolves give a surreal cast to the natural world.
