Emily Kirksey Amy, Owner/DirectorEmily Kirksey Amy, Owner/Director

Emily Amy has been a key player in the Atlanta arts scene for the past five years. Emily is well versed in both art history and the fine arts by means of her education in the United States and abroad at institutions including Vanderbilt, Harvard, and the University of Georgia. It was at University of Georgia where Emily pursued her Master’s degree in 20th century American Art. Her passion and knowledge of early and mid-twentieth century modern art, namely Expressionism, Cubism, Constructivism, Abstract Expressionism, and Color Field Painting, have significantly influenced her recruitment decisions, evidenced by the stable of artists at Emily Amy Gallery.

While in graduate school, Emily worked closely with two Atlanta-based galleries, providing her with priceless experience under the direction of some of Atlanta’s most esteemed gallery directors. Upon leaving the University of Georgia, Emily accepted a job at one of Atlanta’s longest-standing galleries and quickly became one of the youngest gallery directors in Atlanta. After gaining substantial knowledge as a director and manager, she decided it was time to follow her dream and open a gallery of her own.

Emily’s warm and welcoming personality will make you feel right at home in her gallery. Furthermore, if you need to call on her for assistance in choosing the perfect painting for your collection, with her knowledge and expertise she will confidently guide you to make the best choice, financially and aesthetically.

Emily Reid recently joined Emily Amy Gallery, having moved to Atlanta from New York, NY. Emily spent her teen years in Germany, and had the opportunity to travel extensively throughout Europe. Her love for art was enhanced by visits to many European fine art galleries such as the Tate in London, and Musee d’Orsay and the Louvre in Paris. Emily’s arrival in New York coincided with Christo’s ‘The Gates, Project for Central Park’—an event that inspired her to explore many artistic opportunities available in the city. While in Manhattan, she served on a committee for the New York Junior League that assists at-risk inner-city children at the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center with the development of their artistic skills. Her favorite museums in NYC are the MOMA and the Neue Gallery. A graduate of James Madison University in Virginia with a degree in finance and economics, Emily worked in the fashion industry as Brand Manager for Brothers & Sisters, a marketing firm that has successfully launched over a dozen contemporary designers into multi-million dollar companies. She is excited to join the Emily Amy Gallery and hopes to help it reach art lovers in the Greater Atlanta area.
